Digital health is a big topic this week, with two concurrent conferences devoted to technology and healthcare kicking off on Monday and Tuesday. In Las Vegas, a portion of CES 2018’s 184,000 attendees are participating in the Digital Health Summit. A more intimate gathering is taking place in San Francisco, where over 300 professionals are gathered for the Digital Medicine & Medtech Showcase.
If you’re not already gazing up at the Golden Gate or bustling around Sin City, fear not. There are still opportunities to attend events devoted to digital health in 2018.
Conferences are one of the best places to learn about new developments and innovation in digital health, but with dozens of events devoted to healthcare it can be hard to know where to start. To help you sort through the jumble, here are seven events devoted specifically to digital health in 2018. These conferences are already scheduled, so decide which make the most sense for you or your organization and register early.
#1 – HIMSS18
March 5-9, 2018 | Las Vegas, NV
HIMSS bills this conference as the leading annual event for health information technology. HIMSS18 will bring together 45,000+ professionals from 90+ countries for five days of education, innovation and collaboration. As the conference organizers put it, “HIMSS18 has the world-class education, cutting-edge products and solutions, and unique networking opportunities you need to solve your biggest health information and technology challenges – all at one time, all in one place.”
#2 – 2018 Health Datapalooza
April 26-27, 2018 | Washington D.C.
Organized by AcademyHealth, the 2018 Health Datapalooza is presenting itself as the gathering place of choice for individuals and organizations who are driven to create knowledge from data and to pioneer innovations that will influence how practices and health policy function. Here’s how the organizers describe this unique event:

#3 – Digital Health World Congress 2018
May 8-9, 2018 | London, UK
Digital Health World Congress is the leading technology digital healthcare conference in London, UK and Europe. The Congress serves as a forum for medtech, mobile, IoT, and IT industry events. Speakers at the 2018 event have not yet been announced, but in 2017 they included executives from Accenture, ARM, GSK, Pfizer and many others.
#4 – HIMSS Europe
May 27-29 | Barcelona, Spain
If you were in need an excuse to visit Barcelona this spring, look no further. HIMSS Europe and Health 2.0 are collocating what they’re calling “the most influential digital health conference of 2018.” The HIMSS Europe 18 & Health 2.0 Conference will be held in the beautiful coastal Spanish town of Sitges, located just 25 minutes southwest of Barcelona. The conference will address the whole spectrum of digital health ecosystems with the goal of reaching key audiences in the sector – from hospital CEOs to innovative SMEs and start-ups, as well as CMOs, clinicians and nurses. Conference themes will include digital transformation, cybersecurity, interoperability and data into knowledge.
#5 – 2018 e-Health Conference
May 27-30, 2018 | Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
If Spain isn’t on your list, why not head to Canada? This annual conference and tradeshow brings together digital health professionals to network, connect and learn from one another. With in-demand keynote presenters, expert panelists, and leading-edge vendors, the e-Health Conference delivers great education and networking opportunities. This May, delegates will engage with current and future leaders at the Conference, Showcase, and Hackathon, and network with old and new colleagues at the Tradeshow and social events – including a Welcome Reception, Canadian Health Informatics Awards Gala and sponsor receptions.
#6 – Health 2.0 Fall Conference
September 16-19, 2018 | Santa Clara, CA
Health 2.0 promotes, showcases and catalyzes new technologies in health care. While their annual Fall conference in Santa Clara is their flagship event, Health 2.0 also hosts HxRefactored, a Spring event for developers and designers in the health care space, WinterTech, a one-day conference in San Francisco which focuses on the health tech investment scene, and multiple international conferences including India, Europe, Japan and China.
#7 – Health IT Summits

If you’re looking for a more regional conference, the Health IT Summits are a great place to start. Across the country, Healthcare Informatics hosts a series of events and programs that promote improvements in the quality, safety and efficiency of healthcare through information technology. Formerly known as the Institute for Health Technology Transformation (“iHT2”) Health IT Summits, these events provide healthcare leaders with educational content, insightful debate and dialogue on the future of healthcare. The 2018 programming kicks off with the San Diego Health IT Summit on February 1-2, 2018.
