Where are you located?
Mobius MD is headquartered in sunny San Antonio, Texas. Our entire staff is based in the United States and all of our software is created and maintained, in-house.
How did Mobius get started?
The co-founders of Mobius recognized a unique opportunity for medical software in 2012. Side-by-side with the country’s busiest physicians, they worked to deeply understand the workflows, challenges, and barriers to efficient patient care. Over time, the company became laser-focused on clinical documentation efficiency.
What are the priorities of Mobius as an organization?

Mobius MD is a privately-held company with no venture capital or private equity backing. The majority of owners are medical doctors and their families.
Are your products HIPAA-compliant?
Our products exceed the standards specified by HIPAA and HITECH, the major medical legislation governing data security in the U.S. healthcare industry. You can sleep soundly knowing your patient data is safe no matter where and when you access Mobius. All private health information received, transmitted, maintained, or created is handled with 256-bit encryption using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). Protected health information is never stored in an unencrypted state. Furthermore, our software contains additional security mechanisms. Those mechanisms include a secondary passcode for access which keeps our data separate from other apps coexisting on a mobile device. Password security and strength is enforced and repeat access during a given user’s session necessitates re-authentication via passcode. Access to PHI is audited and tracked. All of our employees complete regular HIPAA-compliance training and their roles explicitly necessitate a continual mindfulness of the sensitivity of PHI. Finally, we are audited by independent 3rd parties, including HITRUST and IOActive, to ensure we conform to the rigid standards expected and required for medicine. What does "Mobius" mean?
A “mobius” is a continuous, geometric shape, where all of the surfaces are completely connected due to its unique spiral pattern. We adopted the name “Mobius” because we aim to enable a continuous, quality connection between you, your clinical practice, and your patients.
